Appletree Skin are proud to be associated with the Vein Doctors Group.

Dr Hannah is a Phlebologist with Vein Doctors Group.  Phlebology is the branch of medical science concerned with the anatomy and diseases of the veins and the subsequent diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.

This includes:

  • Spider veins

  • Varicose veins

  • Venous ulcers

  • Pelvic veins - pelvic congestion & varicoceles

  • Lymphatics

Varicose and spider veins are very common and affect about 30% of the population. There are three common types which are frequently seen in combination. ‘Spider veins’ are the finest and are usually fed by larger ‘reticular veins’, which are under the skin. ‘Varicose veins’ are the largest type and often bulge above the skin surface, usually due to a weakness in the vein wall. There are many symptoms associated with varicose veins, which include heaviness, burning, aching, stinging, throbbing, restless legs and leg cramps.

At Vein Doctors Group, ultrasound guided methods are used for treatment of abnormal veins and these treatments include:

  • Injection Microsclerotherapy

  • Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

  • Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy

  • Ultrasound Guided Endovenous Laser

  • Ultrasound Guided Medical Superglue (cyanoacrylate)
